Home For Deranged Engineering Scientists
This is pretty funny! These guys took my video, shot for shot, and recreated it on their own campus. This kind of appropriation I don’t mind at all!

Amazing. Great attention to detail. As you would expect for deranged engineering scientists I suppose!

not just a labor of love, but a labor of HUGELY NERDY love. outstanding!
warms my heart, it does.
(have you heard of the kids in the 1980′s who gave this same treatment to “raiders of the lost ark”? “raiders of the lost ark: the adaptation” is a shot for shot remake, missing only the airplane fight/exploding plane sequence but surprisingly including the submarine-related scenes.)

Frame for frame, they did an exceptional job. My favorite bit was the young man smoking through his surgical mask. I don’t remember that scene in your video…did I miss it? (lol)

Nice tribute!!!

Spent a semester back at Tech back in the day. There’s not much to do in Socorro, so this kind of creativity is pretty much par for the course.

Haha! I have a brother who’s majoring in engineering at Virginia Tech.
I agree that they were pretty good with the details, but the lip-synching and the fluidity of the mannerisms were a bit off.
It just don’t beat the original.

That’s awesome
I thought about doing that for ‘Radio Silence’ once……

That is wonderful. You have to love the internet.

Your original was/is (?) better, Thomas, because it *was*
original–a lot of those fabulously quirky ideas came right out of your
head, didn’t they! But the engineering student/actor didn’t have a
little toy hammer to ‘pound’ the wooden shapes into the holes with!
It’s details like that that make your music and videos so special and
unique.
Peace, Kara (better late than never??)

Nice job all the same though!! Imitation being the best form of flattery and all that along with Techies with loads of time on their hands! Class!

Whoops, did I forget to observe that the remake was otherwise
brilliant??! See, here’s the irony: obviously I forget the odd detail
myself. Dang.
Peace and clever homages,
Kara
p.s. I think my laptop’s possessed by demons, as it’s downloading
all sorts of updates that I know nothing about! What the heck
is a “JMicron controller”??!?!? Ah well, I’ll Google it.

Nice to see they got an equally good-looking guy to play you!
