Journalists
I did a bunch of interviews today for the tour, and for the most part the writers were very enthusiastic. I ended up at a protracted afternoon-tea-becomes-early-dinner session at a local inn with first The Stranger, a cool edgy Seattle music mag, segueing into the Chicago Tribune. Both surprised me with well-informed questions that indicated they had a genuine interest in my music, as well as respecting my reasons for taking 15 years “off”. Thankfully they all steered clear of, or were unaware of, the K-Fed saga and focused instead on why I chose now to come back, and what my plans are for the tour and for new music releases. One exception was MTV News who called for a quote about my favorite toy boy rapper. They published the article this afternoon and called the K-fed camp as well, who announced his song has been taken down from MySpace. Success! That’s the power of the Web. Hopefully it will now simmer down and I can get back to rehearsal.

Thomas-
1) Fantastic news that you’re touring! Long overdue. It is an understatement to say that your fans are happy to see you perform out on the distant road again.
2) A close friend and I are longtime listeners and will be at the 5/6- Annapolis show. We’ll have our wives, but they won’t have a clue how good this will be (basically distant recollections of “Science” from their MTV days). Annapolis is a cool olde seaside town that can be haunting on dark foggy nights on the perimeters of the revelry going on in its taverns. You’ll enjoy the Ram’s Head.
3) Polite suggestions for the songlist if you would consider indulging us: “Pop Culture”; “Airhead” ,”Submarines” and of course – “Brain:.
4) Take your mind off the fifteen minute man – k-fed and focus on the music. I cannot wait for this show.
All the Best.

Slightly depressed not to see you in Atlanta. However, Brain is right about Annapolis, a great old town (by US standards). The Ram’s Head can be a bit boisterous, try their she-crab soup.

I also wish you could come down to Atlanta. I’m thinking of making the drive to Alexandria. I enjoyed the performence of “She blinded me with Science” at TED.
i’m glad the K-Fed song came down.

Very good! Now that the unfortunate biz that is Federline has been handled (at least hopefully) things should move along sweet and smoothly for you!

Excited to hear about your getting back into the touring game. Maybe now we will bare witness to the tables turning on the musical frauds of this generation, specifically the likes of Britney Spears and her thieving husband. As an [visual] artist myself, it was both shocking and disappointing to hear how little reinforcement you received from the BMG label in this matter. Though you were successful in getting the song taken down from his site, I implore you to not back down and take whatever legal action against him possible (and please keep us informed). Some may call me too a hater, but in actuality it is emotion fueled by a love for the genuine artform that is music.
Best of luck with your tour!
