Pics from Boston

The very glamourous Lunesse (above) took some nice pics while we were on the road last week. Here’s our rental truck, with its advertisement craftily defaced by Darin and Justin.

[ERRATA: I am now informed the vandals were Lunesse and our host, Bob.]

And a couple from my performance at Berklee School of Music in Boston…

Incidentally, the Boston Herald published a very nice review of the gig here:

  1. Fantastic pictures there Mr Dolby, Lunesse looking the movie star! A very positive review, always nice to see appreciation in reviews and not scathing ones.
Hope you’re all having a great time out there, and thanks once again for sharing the experiences!

    Take care.

  2. White City says:

“In an entertainment world where imposters pose as artists and look to technology to falsify talent and take shortcuts, Dolby’s welcome return was a reminder that technology can also encourage creativity and innovation.”

Seldom have I ever read such a profound and accurate statement in the press. Nail hit squarely on head.

    Bravo Boston Herald.

What did the truck originally say? I am having a slow start on this rainy Monday. I can’t figure it out…

    Cheers,
    Jon

  3. Rockit says:

Hard to see, but I think they changed “Dolly Good, Hernia Bad” to “Dolby Good, Hernia Bad”.

  4. neeznoodle says:

If the lecture at Berklee School of Music was recorded, any chance it will be added to the DVD?

  5. mkb says:

Ugh, the words “Bravo Boston Herald” are making my head spin.

  6. heretic2 says:

I would love to find out more about the conent of the lecture/workshop Thomas gave at Berklee. Although I have to say I’d settle for a sneak peak of the Sole Inhabitant Live DVD… What are the chances Thomas? Any new on the DVD and its release date?

    Cheers,
    Andrew

  7. stevied says:

Yes, The Lecture/Clinic from Berklee. That would be sweet to have access to., That was the biggest highlight for this mini tour for sure!

  8. BeechwoodAve says:

Ummm…. a choice between listening to TMDR or having a hernia? Pretty obvious one! Although….

“One of our intestines… is bulging…tonight…”

    Nah!

  9. lunesse says:

Rockit is correct. It said “Dolly Good, Hernia Bad.”

Use this link to see the defaced truck in all its clever detail:

The truck rocks. One of my friends loves the design concept on those Budget trucks, and this only makes it better. :-) Of course, this makes the mind wander… we’ll be waiting for the new Broadway musical “Hello, Dolby!” and for the day when Brenda O’Leary goes country under the name “Dolby Parton”… ahem…

  12. gregorbill says:

If only there were a way to make is read “Dolby, good. dbx, bad.”

  13. mizmusic says:

Gee, wonder what Budget thought about that?! Hee hee! :P ;)

They may think twice about renting to Dolby and co. again,
    *snerk*…

“Dolby the Graffitist?” {is that a word??!} Nah, Lunesse and Bob, the very clever graffitists. Or would that be taggers…?

I dunno. Way cute nonetheless!!!! Lunesse is an artist, and it
    shows. {big grin}

Great photos, Thomas! Thanks for sharing!!! :) I’m glad that all
y’all have been having such a great time!! {nah, I’m not Texan,
    I just like the expression “y’all”–so shoot me.} :P

Now I gotta go and find out just what the heck “dbx” is. Thanks
    for the link, gregorbill!

    Love and clever modifications,
    Kara :)
