Off to NYC

I’m about to get on a plane to New York for the Exotic Erotic Ball on Saturday. A few quick updates before I leave:

-The EEB set will be 45 minutes only, at 12.30am on June 18th. It’ll be quite a dancey set, with special appearances by pole dancers, S+M acts etc (Lord help me!) I may also guest with George Clinton, or vice versa.

-Holly Golightly has designed a delightful t-shirt especially for the EEB! It should also please the more petite fans, who were somewhat underserved by the previous t-shirt options. We’ll debut it here in a few days, and there should be some available in the Store.

-The London meet’n'greet *is* happening after the Scala gig on June 23rd. Forum members can download and print a ticket, which can be exchanged for a pass to the Glass Bar for 9.30 right after the show (showtime is 8 sharp.) The box office opens at 10am, but only the first 50 individuals with printed tickets will receive a pass! We have 45 mins until they kick us out of the Glass Bar which equates to less than a minute each, sorry it’ll be short and sweet. Get your stuff ready for signing. For more information, see the dedicated thread in the Forum (visible to registered members only.)

-At Wireless on June 25th in Hyde Park I am playing 4-30pm to 5.10pm.

-Johny Dekam is coming to NYC and London, so we hope to have full vodeo projection. At Wireless we’ll be subject to the Channel 4 TV crew, and of course it’s in daylight, so who knows how it will turn out.

-In London I’ll be discussing a DVD release with EMI covering my entire catalog, videos, and even some footage from the Sole Inhabitant Tour. It would come out later in 2006.

-I am also planning to release a full concert DVD of the Spring tour. This will likely be sold on my web site, CD Baby etc.

-Some dates have been added in October and November. Keep tuned in via the Forum. These WILL include the Boston area, and another show in NYC!

-I hope to tour the US again in November and December, if I can get some new songs recorded by then.

That’s all the news that’s fit to print!

    DVD – Fantastic!!!!

Don’t say “entire catalogue” – there’s much more to come hopefully!!!!

  3. MiniCoopGuy Says:

TMDR: I have a very quick question. Does the possible release of your video catalog include a re-release of Rockula on DVD? I know many of us would love to have a digital copy of the movie, but didn’t know if that was included in your negotiations.

    Safe travels!

Thomas you know the English music technolgy magazine “Future Music” does an excellent series of interviewing “The Pioneers” people like Eno, Daniel Miller, Front 242,etc. I would think you would be a perfect candidate for FM considering your early underground days, Beatnik, your recent one man tour. They tend to give rather technical interviews and I’m sure there would be alot of interest in what you might have to say. Has anybody from the magazine ever approached you about this? With your being in the UK, the timing would be an excellent opportunity for some good publicity and getting your name back out there.Good news about a future NYC date in October/November

See you on the 23rd! :)

Thomas, what can one say aside from WOW WOW WOW
    WOW WOW??!?!? DVDs covering your entire catalog, and videos, and full video rig in England, and…*thud* {faints}

Wha’appen? Who am I?? Oh right. Boy howdy, Mister, you’ve
really got things cookin’ now. Good on ya!!! :D :D

    YEE-HAWWWWWW!!!

    Yours in gleeful exuberance,
    Kara Laidlaw {the really rather infamous…}

Very happy to hear you’re coming to Boston, Thomas! Not sure we can offer a show quite like the EEB, but if your show is here sometime in September or October and intersects with a Red Sox pennant race or the playoffs…oh my. Several of the concert clubs lie right next to Fenway Park and often open their doors right as the game lets out. It’s a mass of every kind of humanity!

  7. Retrocanary Says:

This all sounds excellent. Do you realise how many smiles you create by writing this news?

Holy crap! I never thought sacrificing that goat would really work!

Bon voyage. I hope Brenda enjoys EEB!

  9. wadcorp Says:

Hey, I’m just hoping for video footage of the Erotic/Exotic Ball.

    Whoa!

    .

  10. Valen Says:

This DVD, will it include ‘live wireless’, ALL promo videos, and all albums?

Seems strange having a DVD os music unless it’s DVD Audio, SACD, DD or DTS.

As Wayne and Garth would say:

    “Excellent.”

  12. merujo Says:

Up until now, I’d been thinking of the Exotic-Erotic Ball as the E E B, but seeing it written as “EEB” is going to cement the mental pronunciation as “eeeeb.” (Now, with 97% less clothing!):-)

I’ll be looking forward to seeing the artistic handiwork of the talented and lovely Holly. Falling outside the realm of normal t-shirt sizes myself, I simply stand back and admire the skills of folks like Dominik and Holly on the more svelte forms of your other fans. :-)

Re: Future Music–they are coming to interview me after soundcheck at the Scala!

I am so excited! I am so hopeful that we (in the Boston area) will get to see a show! I can’t wait!

“Re: Future Music–they are coming to interview me after soundcheck at the Scala!”

Excellent! Like I said if you aren’t one the true pioneers I don’t know who is. That will be a great issue no doubt! I see you’re playing the Canal Room on Sept 29th , they mentioned that a number of times on the PA last night at the ABC show, you got a few cheers when your name was mentioned. I’ll do everything I can to make sure it’s sold out! :)

    Hi Thomas,

Great news about the DVDs (I had hoped for one- my old vhs Live Wireless has seen better days!- but 2 is awesome)
When you talk about fall shows- are there plans to Fly North to Canada this time? Toronto would be ideal- unless visiting the newly restored Empire theater http://www.theempiretheatre.com in my hometown of Belleville would fit?
You suggested at the Royal Oak Mich meet and greet that Canada would be included this next time.

    Graham

  17. Chester Says:

Didn’t Future Music do a ( very ) small thing on you a few years back Thomas? I seem to remember a quick interview and questions about samples used etc…..

  18. ed.segeren Says:

    TMDR,

    Toronto, please!!!!!!
Lot’s of folks up here would love to see you again!

    Cheers,
    Ed

  19. delph Says:

A session on 6 Music would be good… Has anyone at the Beeb noticed your return yet?

  20. mizmusic Says:

Another vote for Toronto–only if it works for you and
all of your hardworking cohorts, of course. Anywhere in Canada would be good, I think. Pretty pleeeeeeaaaaase,
with chow mein on it??! :D

Love and best wishes, and mucho appreciation for all
of your hard work, Kara in Winnipeg…

  21. CaptMondo Says:

Make that a third vote for Toronto in Canada! I think it is safe to say you’d have a good turnout if you headed north.

  22. Ghastly Says:
