Fun last show. All things must pass.

There we were in a delightful little club in the deserted resort town of Aspen. Literally nobody on the streets; no-one in our hotel apart from us. When I walked onstage, perhaps 12 people in the audience! But I noticed more filtering in to fill up the club during the set, and then round about ‘Europa’ two blondes came down the front of the stage to dance, so I yanked them up onstage. They gyrated in front of the video screen for a while then one of them started undulating behind me; she stepped on my audio cable and yanked out my headphones. By “Science” there were a dozen people grooving right in front of me as if in a disco. So I went straight into “Airhead” (good cue for the two blondes to come back onstage!) and rocked the house.

The crew retired to the lobby of our deserted hotel and Lunesse broke out the bottle of Sofia she has been carrying around the last 3 weeks. We told stories and ate potato chips. And now it’s all over. Hard to believe! I will write more when I come up for air. Thanks to my awesome crew for making this happen. And thanks to my incredible fans for filling these clubs and theaters and making this such a wonderful time for me. See you all again in the Fall perhaps! Thomas

Dude, we’re all looking for the ‘perhaps’ part dropping off and seeing you onstage again very soon. I don’t know about other people. but I still can’t believe I got to see you play live, after believing for years that that was never going to happen, and even after flying across the country twice to your gigs. Maybe one more show will do the trick.

BTW, you write great songs about the west coast. Write some more!

Congratulations on the end of the US tour! You have proven once again that you definitely have that Ability To Swing. And Lunesse and Johnny you ROCK!

It has been unbelievable to see you so up close and personal after all these years…your music is still magic…and we all hope you will come back soon, but you can bet that we’ll hang around for another 15 years if we have to… :D Please keep blogging, the new site is awesome!

Have a thumping good London gig, enjoy the summer and the World Cup!

Thanks Thomas for putting it all together and taking it on the road.

Thanks also to Kathleen and the kids for letting you “come out and play”.

Thanks to Justin, Darin, Lunesse, Bree and Johnny and everyone else who helped you make it happen.

Thanks for giving me an excuse to hit the road and visit LA for my first time and San Francisco for the second.

Thanks for giving us old 10 year online Alloy veterans an excuse to get together, sit down and have dinner together. It was great to meet old online friends that I’ve never seen (or is that see old online friends that I’ve never met?).

Thanks also for whetting our appetites for new material and giving us a preview of what you and your new toys are capable of these days.

Now – go home and get some rest. But don’t be a stranger to the garden shed (;-)

Congrats on a great tour, and thanks for spending time with all of us. Sofia was a nice end to a grueling road trip, but how well does it really go with potato chips? Inquiring minds want to know! ;)

    Have a safe trip!

Mr. Dolby, Lordy I hope that “maybe” morphs into a “definitely”. We appreciate you signing our old love letters in Milwaukee and tolerating our nervous chatter. Your show was original and exhilarating (& maybe your family won’t mind sharing you again for an encore in the fall?) Thank them and thank YOU for your brilliant music……Kelly & Kevin S.

  12. Jaster Mereel Says:

I can’t wait until you come back to Detroit, it was the best concert that I have ever attended, because your music is so personal. My wife and I are on pins and needles anticipating the new material, it means that we will have more songs to sing along with in the house and the car. Thank you so much for touring again, It was a dream come true.

Pouvoir le Cube est avec vous…

Thank you for the incredible concerts in Los Angeles and the journalistic journey across the States. I am glad I could literally introduce my daughter to you and your music. (She is the 7 year old that likes the song “Cruel”, go figure) She has share day on Fridays and wanted to “introduce” your music to her second grade class, by bringing a copy of Astronauts and Heretics with her. I told her maybe next time, lol.
See you in the fall. Many thanks and many blessings to you, your crew and your family for sharing your passion.

  14. Ghastly Says:

    Congrats Thomas on the tour.

I hope to be able to catch you playing this fall.
