A logical continuation of Dolby's musical evolution...

Thomas Dolby's (TMDR) Sole Inhabitant project is a brilliant reinvention & rejuvenation of the never-ending evolution of Dolby's musical influence. Dynamic & powerful performances abound on both the CD & DVD, which closely examines (& often self analyzes) his MO on both composing & performing. An illuminating & (often informally) entertaining offering from a TRUE original! For ALL fans of music, not just TMDR's! 5 Stars! [Reviewer: dirtydatsun]

My wife and I had an amazing time at the show tonight (in Norfolk). It was a dream come true for us and an awesome way to spend our 14th wedding anniversary!

Shane: The audio CD is on "back order", meaning the delay of the signed inserts is holding up the release. Fret not, I await mine arriving. But I got my DVD today (#232, thanks Thomas!) and couldn't have been happier. The Boston show was wonderful! While I'm glad to have even seen Thomas live in PDX, it was early in the tour. As issues were worked out along the way and things added, it looks like it just got better. I mentioned it the other day, but I hope for another romp through the Northwest with an expanded playlist, and maybe new material.

Just watched the whole DVD. End to end. Thank you Thomas. Will post reviews as requested. Couple of observations that spring to mind after watching the DVD interview. One is tinged is regret in as much that you sadly never realised that your music had connected with an audience in the UK. I now wish I could have somehow made you aware of just how important The Flat Earth was to a whole generation of people in Benfleet, Essex 1984. A seminal album that defined a very important summer for me and those closest. The second is the joy in having your view of the Scala gig. I was there in the audience as was my best friend of the past 25 years who shared all the albums as they were released. It was he who turned me onto your music when he came back from a 3 month stint in Saudi where his late father worked for the Royal family. It was a cassette of the GAOW, complete with the guitar version of Radio Silence that started my love of your music. Don't rush the next chapter. Take your time and get it right. Get well soon. West Ham Vs Wigan tomorrow night with my ten year old at Upton park. Life doesn't get any sweeter. All the best.

CD Baby keeps insisting the "autographed CD hasn't been released yet"....anyone else running into this issue?? I paid for it the day of the scheduled release, but so far, no-go....very Sex Pistols-ish !!

At least the samples posted on CDBaby sound good !

Valen: the video seems to be in standard 4:3 format. My HD projector lets me blow it up to 16x9 so it fills the screen. TMDR looks like he's added a few pounds when the image is stretched, but you really feel like you are at the show. As for sound, I haven't quite figured that out. I listened to it in ProLogic and it sounded better than normal stereo mode but that could be my speaker set-up too. I know it isn't 5.1 surround.

Enjoy the DVD as it is fatastic!
